 An intimate, tastefully-decorated boutique-style hotel furnished in traditional Venetian style, whose discreet air matches its location, well-removed from the tourist bustle and with pleasant views over the Grand Canal.

Though slightly off the beaten track, its proximity to a water bus stop makes it accessible to the main sights and St Mark's Square is a reasonable, characterful walk away, though a map may be useful for finding your way back on foot.

Interior

The interior has a classy, polished appearance and includes a bright entrance hall dominated by a patterned marble floor. A small discreet reception desk lies to one side, adjoined by a bright comfortable lounge that overlooks the Grand Canal and features an original Palladian marble floor and an antique stone fireplace (which is sadly no longer lit).

Across the hall is a small inviting bar with warm, wood-panelled decor, which also overlooks the canal and has a few tables on a canal side terrace. Behind reception is a compact, partially wood-panelled breakfast room with striped silk wall coverings.

Location

Area Type: Overlooking the Grand Canal 500 yds SW of Rialto Bridge, almost adjacent to Sant'Angelo vaporetto stop with another hotel next door. Naturally it has its own entrance from the canal, and is otherwise very difficult to find on foot. There are no bars or restaurants immediately nearby, the nearest are in Campo San Stefano 200 yds away, while St Mark's Square is 800 yds away via winding streets.
