 In a fairly quiet beach front location, and so offering sea views from many rooms, this mid-range option is otherwise fairly disappointing, lacking any character or atmosphere.

Public areas are spacious but unimaginative, and grounds are sadly almost non-existent, though it does benefit from a wide rooftop sun deck that offers panoramic views over the lagoon and city, as well as a Jacuzzi in summer.

It has its own changing cabin on the beach opposite, with umbrellas, sunbeds and also bicycles for rent, and offers a few suites with kitchens.

It is a little way out even for the Lido's amenities, and is best recommended for anyone who favours the beach over the city and can't stretch to the Excelsior or Des Bains.

Exterior

A prominent 5-storey terracotta villa-style former apartment building, with arched windows, narrow balconies to some rooms and protruding conservatory sections to the lounge and restaurant at the front.

Metal railings border the property and 2 rather fierce looking stone lions guard the steps up to the entrance.

Interior

The rather spartan lobby has little more than a few wicker tables and chairs in front of the reception. To one side is a fairly spacious lounge with more wicker chairs and a conservatory section looking out to sea.

To the other is the restaurant, pleasant enough though rather plain, with wooden seating arranged mostly in rows and a semi-circular bar in the corner. It too has a conservatory section facing the street and sea.

Grounds

Grounds are minimal and rather disappointing. At the front the restaurant has a split-level tiled terrace with plastic tables and chairs, while opposite a similar terrace is completely bare; both are bordered by pleasant mature shrubs that give privacy from the street.

At the rear a fairly expansive tiled courtyard lies between the building and its car park, with plenty of greenery but where seating is restricted to a bench around the trunk of a tall tree.

A rooftop sun terrace has metal loungers, tables and chairs, as well as a Jacuzzi in summer, and offers good all-round views of the sea and lagoon.

Area Type: On the Lido facing the sea at the eastern end of the main boulevard that runs beside the beach, with a public beach opposite. Other than a snack bar opposite, beach bar 100 yds and one restaurant 200 yds away, there are few amenities nearby; main shops, bars and restaurants ½ ml, bus stop outside.
